Life certainly has many ups and downs.
As cliche as it sounds, she can’t help but agree that this is reality. This is the truth.
She spends a huge chunk of her life striving to reach her goals, her dreams, her visions. She works hard, sometimes more than eight hours a day, beats herself up for coming up short sometimes, stays up in the wee hours of the night all for the name of success.
And then it stops.
Looking at it now, it comes at any point, honestly. Whether or not she has reached where she wants to be yet, life will hit her. Questions will bombard her mind. Doubt will slowly creep in.
It’s hard. It’s very hard to combat it and face the day with a bright smile on her face when deep down inside her, she feels…empty; numb; dull.
Why does she work in the first place? What does money mean to her? Is she happy now that she thinks she’s successful? Is it worth all the sacrifices?
She thinks hard and eventually concludes she doesn’t know how to answer it herself. She’s lost — or at least she simply feels like it.
She feels like she has successfully moved out of her house in their little town to a great, big and flashy city, to chase her dreams, to take herself to places even she herself didn’t dreamed of.
At the price of being alone, of being surrounded by people she barely knows, in a job that pressures her, among others.
But as she sits on her seemingly posh bed in a little cramped up room situated in a fancy building, she shakes her head and closes her eyes.
“There will be better days. Tomorrow will be better than today,” she repeated. Over and over until she felt like it. She tried to look for things, even the little ones, and view it on a positive standpoint. She tried to shove her negative thoughts away on days it felt like she had strength over the darkness she felt.
It’s not an easy journey to tread. But she tries, little by little, to believe that rainy days are not permanent. A lot of days may be challenging but it won’t be the case forever.
Her dreams and goals will always be bigger than the challenges she faces.
